3 Ways to Lift Stress about Divorce Court
My heart is pounding, I can’t sleep and I have the jitters. I can’t help it – we go to court this week.
Are you feeling stressed about your divorce hearings? You’re not alone. So much is up in the air that it is only normal to be anxious.
There’s Hope
Going to divorce court with peace is much better than going to pieces in divorce court.
As natural as it is to be stressed about divorce hearings you don’t have to be so nervous. Here are three ways you can move from high stress to a state of calm when facing divorce court.
- Be as prepared as possible. Do your homework so that you are ready. You can’t always control the outcomes but being prepared can help set your mind at ease. Also build yourself a network of supportive friends who will pray for you to be prepared for court and to have peace. Our After Divorce Ministries prayer team will gladly pray for you so don’t hesitate to ask us for prayers.
- Center yourself. Take a deep breath and start talking to God right now. Ask him to walk with you starting now. Ask him to help you be prepared but more than that, ask for his peace that passes all understanding. This is a very powerful and amazing peace that only comes through the Holy Spirit.
- Feel the presence. One woman told me she felt a thousand angels surrounding her and protecting her in the courtroom. Ask God for his presence then rest in its reality. Allow the Holy Spirit to wash over you and give you peace despite your circumstances.
Finding Angels in Divorce Court
It’s safe to say that no one is ever totally happy with the settlement outcomes of divorce. Nobody relishes the ins and outs of the legal process either. But what a blessing to know you can release your stress to God and that He will be with you through the ups and downs. Jesus loves you!
May you feel the protective power of a thousand angels surrounding you and lifting you as you anticipate and go through your legal proceedings.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NLT
