Divorce Pain: This Too Shall Pass!
Having your marriage fail can make you feel like life is over. Your sense of peace can vanish as you cope with the grief, guilt and turmoil of divorce. Starting over on your own can be daunting.
Granted, divorce isn’t to be taken lightly and we know that it is God’s design that marriage last a lifetime. But, if divorce is your reality please know that it isn’t the end of the world. Your sadness doesn’t have to be forever. God still loves you!
The hole in your soul can be filled. You will come out stronger on the other side. There’s hope. Let God be your strength!
Please understand that life does get better.
“And it came to pass” is a phrase that occurs many times in the Bible. I find it to be a seriously encouraging phrase. The season you are in right now will come to pass too.
Become determined to heal from your divorce. Take comfort in knowing that the grief you feel now is for a season. Set your mind on growing from your experiences rather than drowning in them. Ask God to guide your steps.
You can’t make your divorce un-happen. You can choose to work through the grief and come out a better person on the other side.
Yes, with positive prayerful steps, this will come to pass.
Christian Encouragement:
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-7 (KJV)

Hi. I am struggling through each day after an unwanted divorce. We were married for 33 years with 3 beautiful children. He left me for another woman. I am heartbroken still (we have been separated for 2 years) – feels like only yesterday he moved me out, and moved her in. I cannot put into words the pain I am feeling. I’m seeing doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc – you name it, I’m doing it. I am trying my hardest to get better. But I’m not really. Possibly slowly getting worse. I believe in God. I’m trying to have more faith. But it’s so hard… I’m just not going very well. I don’t know who I’m writing to – but could you say a prayer for me? I am scared that I will never get better… love donna
Donna, I’m saddened that you are in such pain. I’ve been left before and understand. It is truly heartbreaking. The fear you have is understandable. We can’t change what has happened to us, but the good news is that you don’t have to live in the pain forever. I know you want to pull out of the pit and I want that for you too. I just prayed for you. I pray that God will help you to see that there is hope of peace. I know God will guide you. I know he has a plan for a future and a hope for you. I know He loves you. It was from my pain that God called me to minister to you and people like you. That’s why I developed the Peace after Divorce Workshop. In my heart I know it can help you.
